The mission of Fabric Graphics Association is to foster and service the fabric and graphics industries by becoming a first source for graphic information, from application to inspiration.

Fabricgraphicsassociation.com is a web site devoted to providing definitive resources for applying graphics to fabric. The web site enhances opportunities for specialty fabric end product manufacturing companies to increase product offerings through graphic applications while promoting common interests of members of the Fabric Graphics Association.

2009 International Achievement Award (IAA) Winners Announced -View projects at www.ifaipublications/iaa

The International Achievement Awards competition is sponsored by IFAI, a not-for-profit trade association whose 2,000 member companies represent the international specialty fabrics marketplace. The 2009 International Achievement Awards were presented during IFAI Expo 2009, the Americas’ largest annual specialty fabrics event, Sept. 23-25 in San Diego, Calif.

IFAI encourages specialty fabric projects of all sizes and type. The goal of the International Achievement Awards is to promote awareness of the specialty fabrics used in thousands of products. All the entries receive prominent recognition at the annual IFAI Expo, the official trade show of the Industrial Fabrics Association International. Additional publicity is received through coverage in IFAI magazines, as well as through press releases sent to media professionals.

Fabric Graphic Projects were entered in the following categories: Fabric Art, Fabric Graphics, Commercial Interiors, Interior Display.

FGA Sustainability in Printing Symposium

Sustainability in Printing - Ensuring Our Future was presented during IFAI Expo. State of the Sustainable Printing Industry was presented by Don Carli, VP of SustainCommWorld. He discussed the state of the sustainable printing industry, methods for adopting sustainable business practices, what clients really want when they ask about sustainability, and what manufacturers can demand of their suppliers.

Steps for Becoming a Sustainable Printing Business was addressed by Marci Kinter, SGIA. She emphasized the practical steps printing companies need to take to embrace sustainabiliity through industry certifications, environmental health and safety standards and lean manufacturing toward the never ending path to sustainability.

Industry Certifications - what works for what? Scott Campbell, Rainier Industries discussedISO 14001 as an Environmental Managemtn System. Andy Graham, Portland Color discussed his company achieving certification with Sustainable Green Printing Program and Pat Hayes, Fabric Images discussed the importance of human resources within a company.
